Pyrénées sits comfortably in Old Montreal, offering a dining experience that weaves together French and Spanish culinary influences with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. This spot is a solid choice for those who appreciate the nuanced flavors of Catalonia and the broader Mediterranean coast, reflected in dishes like seafood paella, French onion soup, and Catalan crème brûlée.

The setting matches the historic charm of the neighborhood without feeling overly formal—ideal for a cozy dinner where you can take your time and enjoy attentive yet unobtrusive service. The interior layout encourages intimate meals, whether for a date night or a small gathering of friends, with soft lighting and warm tones that create a welcoming ambiance, especially on cooler evenings.

Food-wise, the menu carefully balances rich, robust options like pork cheeks and grilled beef, with lighter choices such as vegetable paella or salads featuring fresh, local ingredients. Seafood holds a prominent place here, and regular diners tend to highlight standout dishes like perfectly cooked scallops, tender calamari, and platters like the Spanish-style fish parillada. For dessert, the Catalan crème brûlée and chocolate fondant cake are often enjoyed to round out the meal.

This restaurant suits diners who enjoy exploring a blend of French and Spanish flavors without the rush. It feels particularly well matched to visitors who want a culinary escape after exploring Old Montreal’s cobblestone streets, especially during quieter weeknights or relaxed weekend evenings. Given the portion sizes and variety, it’s a good spot for both sharing plates or settling into a full multi-course meal.

Overall, Pyrénées seems to attract a clientele that values both quality and variety—from seafood lovers to those looking for inventive vegetable dishes—and the service style supports a leisurely pace. It’s the kind of place where attentive staff can guide your choices and create a comfortable space to enjoy a nuanced menu paired with thoughtful wine selections.

Good restaurant. The soup I had was fantastic!. So was the creme brulee dessert. Only the lamb dinner could have been more tender. The service was fine. Nice atmosphere too. Worth a visit, but possibly some dishes are better than others.

"A Wonderful Surprise!" This place truly made my day! It was the perfect, much-needed escape on a chilly day. The service was so attentive and caring! The food, especially the scallops, was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this cozy gem! Thank you for making my visit to Montreal feel so special!

Delicious spot of French and Spanish fusion- we absolutely loved this restaurant. We had a variety of options from menu including the seafood chorizo Paella, duck salad, octopus, and stew. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and helped us choose a wonderful wine to accompany our dinner. Will come again!

Was there on a Sunday night. The restaurant was quite full probably because it was a long weekend. The food was delicious. Everything we ate elicited high praise from the four of us at the table. We had the calamari and octopus and gazpacho as appetizers. The calamari were some of the best we’ve had in a long time, and the portion was generous. The octopus was also delicious, but the portion was lacking in size. My friends opted for the vegetarian paella, but added chorizo and chicken. I had the seafood paella with chicken and chorizo as well. Our other friend ordered the lamb. Everything was very tasty and the portions were generous. Although the service was good,it could have been elevated. When our appetizers arrived, the waiter didn’t know what went to whom. One of my friends was missing a fork and we requested one. But as the evening wore on and they cleared the table, two of us were then missing a fork. At that point, we just took some from the empty table next to us. Also, I had requested a glass of white wine when I received my paella. The waitress brought me a glass of red wine instead. She was gone so fast. I didn’t even have a chance to tell her that I had requested white wine. I flagged her down and she brought me the requested white wine . The best service we received was from the young curly haired bus boy. He was very pleasant, smiley, and professional. He should become a waiter. I had the orange cake with chocolate for dessert, but it was missing the requisite, orange zesty flavor. It was also quite cold as if it had just come out of the fridge. My friends had the Creme brûlée and they enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Pyrénées in Old Montreal! The atmosphere is charming and cozy, perfectly matching the historic vibe of the area. I was especially impressed with the strawberry and goat cheese salad—so fresh and full of flavor. The scallops were perfectly cooked and simply delicious. Service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great Spanish dining experience in the heart of the old town!

Food is Spanish European. Flavour was good and portions were a good size. Drinks were tasty. Patio was dog friendly but a bit crowded.

This Basque restaurant is a treat. There is a charming outdoor seating environment and the indoor space is a beautiful place to dine. I had the delicious Roasted Quebec pork cheeks and Carmelized apples. The service and the bar selection is excellent.

Delicious food and ambiance was great. I appreciated the great customer service that was received. The place was pretty packed but felt like we still got really good service. I ordered the seafood paella, gazpacho and veggie sandwich. Would recommend getting reservations during holiday season or weekends.
